| | Email this article Print this article | Virginia 'Ginny' Forsberg, 87, of Texas A celebration of life for Virginia "Ginny" Frances Yancey Forsberg, 87, of Texas, and formerly of Glencoe, was held on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Ginny's Underworld in Plano, Texas.
Mrs. Forsberg died on Nov. 6, 2009, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
She was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Little Rock Ark.
Before moving to Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Forsberg and her husband, Doug, lived in Glencoe and owned the Style Shop, a ladies dress shop.
After moving to Texas in 1971, they opened a dress shop in Canyon Creek, and over the years, she owned other apparel businesses in Prairie Creek, Promenade and Preston Park Village, Texas.
Mrs. Forsberg retired in 2003.
She loved playing bridge, piano, golf and loved to dance. She also liked to collect frogs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Towle; granddaughters, Cindy Jaynes and Stephanie Pyle; great-grandchildren, Chase, Whitney, Ashley, Courtney, Kilee, True and Hayden; sister, Jo Yancey Hale; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Doug.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name can be made to the Parkinson's foundation.
