Daughter joins Busse family

Scott and Denise Busse of Glencoe announce the arrival of a daughter, Jeili Dru Busse, born Nov. 2, 2015, at Hutchinson Health. Jeili weighed 8 pounds, 5.3 ounces, and was 191⁄2 inches in length. She joins siblings Beau, Reid, Quin, Meara, Laira, Cybli and Kynzi.

Ahlers is part of Bio Club

Breanna Ahlers of Brownton is a member of the Biology Club at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2015-2016 academic year. Ahlers is a junior biology education and chemistry education major. 

Boy to Campbell, Steinborn

Bobbie Campbell and Clinton Steinborn of Gaylord announce the birth of their son, Caydin Frederick Steinborn, born Nov. 28, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Caydin weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 21 inches long. He joins siblings Samantha Bergman and Donovan Salonek. Grandparents are Sally and Billy Burrow of South Haven, Kansas, Laurie and Al Milbrandt of Gaylord and Wendy and Dale Steinborn of Dassel. 

Ranzau earns talent award

Amber Ranzau, daughter of Tom and Ann Ranzau of Glencoe, was awarded the 2015 Emerging Talent award at the Minnesota American Society of Interior Design Awards Gala on Nov. 12 in Minneapolis. This award honors one designer each year who demonstrates creativity, professionalism and is an active member of the society. Ranzau is an interior designer at Modern Design Cabinetry in Cologne. 

Locals earn scholarships

Tanner Rosckes and Shelby Clouse, both of Glencoe, have been selected to receive College Now scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. Recipients are selected for their academic accomplishments and outstanding leadership abilities. Rosckes is the son of James and Tina Rosckes. He plans to study business management and marketing. Clouse is the daughter of Todd and Jodi Clouse. She plans to study pre-physical therapy and exercise science. 

Mathews — Hjelle

Kristy Mathews of Willmar and Robbie Hjelle of Willmar announce their engagement. They will be married Dec. 31, 2016.
Parents of the couple are Randy and Carol Mathews of Glencoe and Tom and Lori Peterson and the late David Hjelle of Spicer.
Kristy Mathews is a truck driver for Life Science Inovations and Willmar Logistics.
Robbie Hjelle works at Cashwise Willmar.

Geraldine Wraspir, 70

Geraldine “Geri” Marie Wraspir, 70, of Ottertail, died Thursday, Nov. 26.
A memorial is planned for spring and a full obituary will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Florence Rannow, 91, of Winsted

Florence Mary Rannow, 91, of Winsted, formerly of Silver Lake, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 30, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with the Rev. Paul Schumacher officiating.

Eldora E. Pulkrabek, 77, of Glencoe

Eldora Esther (Lemke) Pulkrabek, 77, of Glencoe, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at her home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 25, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Ronald Mathison officiating. Paul Otte was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Abide With Me,” “For All the Saints” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”

Deana Marie Locken, 76, St. Michael

Deana Marie Locken, 76, of St. Michael, formerly of Deerwood, died Nov. 29, 2015, at The Legacy of St. Michael.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m., at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, with burial at the Bay Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
