Orth cagers delight packed GSL gymnasium

A pair of exhibition basketball games were among the main events at this year’s Tim Orth Memorial Foundation “Jam the Gym” fundraiser, held at the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School gymnasium on Saturday, March 28.
Four GSL seniors were among the players representing local high schools in the pair of contests. 
Panthers guard Keisha Prafke played for the Raspberry team in a girls’ game that featured competitors from seven area squads. 

Raiders win national title

The First Lutheran/Emanuel Raiders girls basketball team wrapped up an undefeated season in the finest of forms, claiming the squad’s first-ever national championship by winning the Lutheran Basketball Association of America National Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 22.
“The community should be proud of this team,” head coach Kathy L. Mackenthun said at a reception for the team on Thursday, March 26. “They are all very respectful, humble and coachable girls.”
