Leon Brinkman, 78, of Glencoe

Leon Brinkman, 78, of Glencoe, died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his home.
Memorial services will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m., at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Katherine Rood officiating. The organist will be Peggy Hatlestad. Congregational hymns are “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Peace, Like a River” and “Blessed Assurance. The recessional will be, appropriately, “Take Me Out to the Ballpark.”

Waldemar Sylwester, 97, of Glencoe

Waldemar “Wally” John Sylwester, 97, of Glencoe, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, May 20, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Ronald Mathison officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Soloist Justin Rierson sang “I Heard the Voice of Jesus,” with words and music by Waldemar Sylwester. Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”

Mildred P. Lindemann, 91, of Gaylord

Mildred Pearl Lindemann, 91, of Gaylord, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in Gaylord.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton with the Rev. R. Allan Reed officiating. Norma Witte was the organist. Congregational hymns were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” and “Nearer, My God, to Thee.” Her grandchildren sang “Jesus Loves Me.”

Larry John Griep, 62, of Darwin

Larry John Griep, 62, of Darwin, husband of Mary Griep, died Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 19, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with the Rev. Dave Wollan officiating. Cory Sullivan and Jennifer Griep offered the eulogy. Mike Lauer was the musician and played “Jesus Messiah” and “You Are My King.” Congregational hymns were “How Great Thou Art” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

John ‘Jack’ E. Bakke, 88, Arizona

John “Jack” E. Bakke, 88, died May 19, 2015, at Gadsden Regional Hospital in Gadsden, Ala.
He was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Fargo, N.D., to Axel Harwick Bakke and Alice Katherine (McGuire) Bakke. After graduating from Montevideo High School in 1944, he served in the U.S. Army from June 21, 1945, to Dec. 7, 1946.
He married Dorraine “Buttons” Adeline Stemwedel on July 24, 1948, and they were blessed with five children, Joanne, Donna, Patricia, Dennis and Cindi.

Earl A. Dammann, 86, of Arlington

Earl A. Dammann, 86, of Arlington, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington. Interment was in the Arlington Public Cemetery.

Son born to Kohout family

Dan and Vanessa Kohout of Glencoe announce the arrival of a son, Bennett Daniel Kohout, who was born May 14, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Bennett weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 191⁄2 inches long at birth. He joins siblings Nevaeh and Cole. Grandparents are Roxanne George of Buffalo and Dave and Deb Kohout of Glencoe.

Tory Wylie and Angela Mae Ulrich of Glencoe announce the birth of their son, Noah Lee Wylie, born May 11, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Noah weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 19 inches long. His siblings are Caroey, Rahiya, Kayla and Dean. Grandparents are Darol Wylie of Hutchinson, Billie Pulkrabek of Hutchinson and Kyle Ulrich of Shakopee.
