Many students will drag their feet when it comes to doing homework, which makes it somewhat startling to learn that about 140 students at Glencoe-Silver Lake volunteered to take on unassigned work.
About 85 students at Helen Baker Elementary and approximately another 50 at Lakeside took on projects through the school’s Project Lead the Way program, part of its STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) effort.
And not only did students take on the extra work, they got their parents involved, too.
