Panther girls win Hayfield Tournament

It was a happy holidays indeed for the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team as the Panthers earned their first hardware of the season by winning the Hayfield Tournament. GSL ran its winning streak to three games with a pair of wins in Hayfield and hit a high water mark on the season with a 6-4 record.

GSL boys' hoop winless at Tartan tourney

It wasn’t the kindest of holiday seasons for the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team. The Panthers’ losing streak hit four games after GSL went winless in a trio of matchups at the Tartan Holiday Tournament last week.
After dropping the tourney opener by a 69-26 score to Forest Lake on Monday, Dec. 28, the Panthers lost 72-29 to Spring Lake Park and 80-69 to Centennial on Dec. 29-30.

It’s a whole new ballgame in CRVL

For at least the next two seasons, the Crow River Valley League (CRVL) will play baseball in a three-division format under a proposal that was ratified in mid-December’s league meeting. 
The CRVL will expand from a north/south division format to three divisions – West, Central and North – featuring five teams apiece determined by geographical location.

Mohr-Keenan

Katelyn Mohr and Jeffrey Keenan, both of Glencoe, announce their engagement.
Parents of the couple are John and Bonnie Mohr and Michael and Sue Keenan, all of Glencoe.
Katelyn Mohr is a graduate of Argosy University in Eagan and is employed as a certified veterinary technician at Animal Medical Center in Hutchinson.
Jeffrey Keenan attended Ridgewater College in Willmar and is engaged in farming with Keenan Farms of  Glencoe.

Willow Faye Roush, a daughter, was born to Kaylan Roush of Winsted on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Willow weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 193⁄4 inches long. Grandparents are Janice and Douglas Roush of Winsted.
 

New son for Henkelmanns

Dusty and Ashley Henkelmann of Glencoe announce the arrival of a son, Jackson Henry, born Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Jackson weighed 8.8 pounds and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Rick Keck and Sherry and Henry Henkelmann, all of Glencoe.
 

Daughter for Glencoe couple

Natalia Nicole Villanueva, a daughter, was born to Nidia Soto and Jose Ernesto Villanueva of Glencoe on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 181⁄2 inches in length. She joins sibling Kayla Denise Villanueva.

Jacob and Josephine Stai of Hutchinson announce the arrival of a son, Thane Ryan, born Jan. 1, 2016, at Glencoe  Regional Health Services. Thane weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 211⁄2 inches long. Grandparents are Jeremy and Carrie Hausladen of Hutchinson, Sean Stai of Annandale and Bobby and Eric Baumann of Hutchinson.
