Dairy princess candidates are being sought

The McLeod County American Dairy Association (ADA) is looking for young women to promote the dairy industry.
The competition is for high school graduates through but not yet 24 years old on July 1, 2016. They must be involved in the dairy industry.
The banquet will be April 2 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Synergy competes at sections on Saturday

The Glencoe-Silver Lake dance team concluded its regular season with a sixth-place finish in an invitational meet at New London-Spicer on Monday, Jan. 25.
“Our girls performed well, but we still have a lot of room for growth with skills and technique,” coach Bertina Miller said.
Up next for the Synergy is the Section 3AA championship meet, which will be held at Mound Westonka on Saturday, Jan. 30. GSL is slated to hit the floor for its high kick routine at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Gymnasts host Dragons, Wildcats

Competing in its first two home meets of the season, the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team hosted Wright County Conference opponents Litchfield and Waconia last week. 
The Panthers posted scores in the 110s in both meets, but came up short against both opponents. Litchfield won 118.775-111.45 on Tuesday, Jan. 19, with Waconia claiming a 134.9-117.625 victory two nights later. 
Despite the final results, coach Kim Hahn was upbeat about the competitions.

Matmen second at NL-S Invite

The Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team wrapped up a two-match stretch last week with a second place finish in the New London-Spicer Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23. The weekend result came two days after a 46-25 dual loss to visiting Litchfield. 
The Panthers fell behind and never recovered against the Dragons as Litchfield went up 28-0 after the first four matches of the night on three pins and a major decision.
