Gymnasts prepping up for Section 2A meet

With the Section 2A meet right around the corner, the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team had another busy stretch last week.
The Panthers hosted a triangular meet against Wright County Conference opponents Annandale and Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and then welcomed Delano to town two nights later.
“I feel the week went really well,” coach Kim Hahn said. “(We) were really strong during both meets.”

Synergy dancers finish with a flourish

The competitive season came to a close for the Glencoe-Silver Lake dance team as the Synergy put on their best effort for the Section 3AA meet at Mound Westonka on Saturday, Jan. 30.
“We ended with our highest scores and highest placing over the past two seasons,” coach Bertina Miller said. “We also received our first 7 from a judge, which is really awesome seeing as the teams that made it to state were primarily 7/8’s with some 9’s.”

Christensen returns to GSL girls’ hoopsters

A split of last week’s pair of games has the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team entering February with a 10-9 overall record.
Even better news is that the Panthers are also entering their final seven-game stretch of the regular season with the services of forward Zoe Christensen.
Christensen made her season debut in a 46-43 win over visiting Dassel-Cokato on Friday, Jan. 29, scoring six points with five rebounds in 17 minutes of play.

A most needed victory for Panther boys' hoop

A rare Monday night game against the Wright County Conference West co-leaders proved to be just what the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team needed to cure what was ailing them.
The Panthers, who entered the evening on a four-game losing streak and had lost their past two contests against New London-Spicer and Dassel-Cokato by double digits, overcame a 15-point first half deficit to defeat Rockford 79-78 and improve to 6-15 on the season.
