Track gearing up for season

It’s been a busy spring for the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ and boys’ track teams so far. The Panthers honed their skills in a trio of pre-season scrimmages and time trials as the opening day of their 2016 campaign draws ever closer.
The meets don’t count quite yet, but that doesn’t mean they are not important. 
“These early time trials are a great way to get ‘broken in,’” girls’ head coach Robb DeCorsey said.

Orth Foundation looks to ‘Jam the gym’

The 18th-annual Tim Orth Foundation basketball benefit in Glencoe is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, April 2, at the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School gymnasium. 
The stated mission of the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation (TOMF) is to assist, financially or otherwise, children in the west central Minnesota area who are facing substantial medical expenses incurred as a result of a serious accident or illness.

Terror suspect threatens to kill everyone at Brooklyn Park Walgreens

A Glencoe man who is facing a federal charge of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation was arrested Sunday for threatening "to kill everyone" at a Walgreens in Brooklyn Park, according to a report on Fox 9 (KMSP) news out of the Twin Cities.

What a difference a decade can make

Back in 2007-2008, the economy in the United States tanked to one of the lowest levels since the Great Depression. Home, commerical and other building values dropped dramatically. The housing market virtually crashed, taking with it the construction field. All new construction ground to a virtual halt, layoffs at factories abounded and unemployment soared.
