Green Isle to remain in Class C

A motion to recommend to the Minnesota Baseball Association (MBA) that the Green Isle Irish be moved up to Class B this season was voted down 10-4 at a special meeting of the Crow River Valley League (CRVL) on Monday, July 11. 
The meeting had been initially called for the purposes of discussing the recruiting practices within the CRVL, with focus on whether Green Isle should be moved up from Class C to B due to a perceived extended recruiting reach.

Glencoe got payback for a loss to Brownton in June and held onto third place in the western division of the Crow River Valley League by defeating the host Bruins 6-1 on Sunday, July 10.
Brewers starting pitcher Jaime Paumen was in fine form under sun-soaked skies at Barney Tadsen Field, baffling Brownton with nine strikeouts over a two-hit, four-walk complete game performance.  
Glencoe all-but put the game away with a four-run third inning before tacking on two more in the fifth.

Plato avenged its lone Crow River Valley League (CRVL) loss of the season thus far and took over sole possession of the western division lead with a league-best 14-1 circuit record with a 5-3 victory at Green Isle on Sunday, July 10.
The Blue Jays never trailed in the contest, scoring a lone run in four of the game’s first five innings before holding on against an Irish rally late for the critical league win.

On Tuesday, July 5, the city of Glencoe experienced a very short period of hail in the community due to severe storms. Some areas of the community were hit harder than others.
