GSL student-athletes honored by WCC West

Eighteen student-athletes from Glencoe-Silver Lake High School earned either All-Wright County Conference West All-Conference or All-Conference Honorable Mention honors for their efforts during the fall season.
Eight Panthers were named All-Conference, while 10 more were named Honorable Mention.
From the GSL girls’ soccer team, midfielder/goalkeeper Zoe Christensen was named to the All-WCC West team. Midfielders Paige Litzau and Carlee Oberlin were both named Honorable Mention.

GSL sports teams gearing up for winter season

As temperatures drop and slate gray skies foretell of snowfalls to come, the Glencoe-Silver Lake sports calendar also turns from the fall to the winter season.
The GSL dance team has already been hard at practice for its schedule, which is slated to begin with an invitational meet at Hutchinson on Dec. 2. The team will be performing at halftime of several Panther home basketball games this season and will also host a meet on Thursday, Jan. 11.
This week signaled the beginning of practices for the GSL gymnastics and girls’ basketball teams.

Christensen headed to Bemidji State

Glencoe-Silver Lake senior Zoe Christensen, fresh off being named to the All-Wright County Conference West Team for girls’ soccer, made a big decision on her future last week.
Christensen, a two-time state participant in the shot put, signed a letter of intent to attend Bemidji State University beginning next fall and compete in track and field for the Beavers.
Surrounded by friends and family, Christensen put pen to paper to commit to BSU in a ceremony at GSL on Friday, Nov. 10. She said it is a good feeling to have the decision made.
