 Politics can be messy, but necessary

I’ve had a number of conversations recently that convince me our country is divided into two political camps separated by a deep and uncomfortably wide gap. No, I’m not talking about liberals and conservatives, or pro- and anti-Trump voters. I’m talking about people who believe in politics and our political system, and people who don’t.

Thomas A. Victorian, 59, of Plymouth

Thomas Anthony Victorian, 59, of Plymouth, died May 23, 2017, in White Bear Lake.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 30, at Plymouth Covenant Church in Plymouth. Private interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Kenneth Dale Stiles, 85, of NYA

Kenneth Dale Stiles, 85, of Norwood Young America, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Perspective Senior Living in Waconia.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 2, at Friedens County Line Church – UCC in rural Norwood Young America, with the Rev. Joseph Clay officiating. Marilee Widmer will be the organist. Julie Stiles and Brian Stiles will perform “He Touched Me” and “God Bless America.” Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “God Bless America.”
