Local ACS chapter receives memorials

The American Cancer Society (ACS) has received memorials in the amount of $1,040 from family and friends remembering Phyllis Huls, Theresa Borka, Jeremy Thiel, Alice Paul, Jerry Janicke and Gloria Matheny Hanks, according to Jeanne Ray, memorial chair. Donations go toward research, education and patient services and, hopefully, to find a cure for cancer.

Red Cross seeking volunteers in area

The American Red Cross serving Southwest Minnesota is looking for additional local volunteers in the McLeod County area to help families after disasters such as home fires. To bolster their ranks, the Red Cross is offering a one-day “Fast Track” training for new volunteers on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Hutchinson Library.

Verda E.L.E. Templin, 98, of Glencoe

Verda Emma Lydia Elizabeth (Graupmann) Templin, 98, of Glencoe, died Aug. 1, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 4, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Nowak officiating.
Casket bearers were Paul Graupmann, Greg Ziemer, Cheryl Holum, Nevaeh Herby, Jerry Schimelpfenig and Kurt Schulz.
Interment was in the Glencoe City Cemetery.

Darlene Erna Raduenz, 78, of Glencoe

Darlene Erna Raduenz, 78, of Glencoe, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, Aug. 9,) at 11 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Peter Adelsen officiating. Luke Dahl will be the organist, and congregational hymns are “Rock of Ages,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Lord is My Shepherd.”
