Extra DWI patrol on the roads leading up to Labor Day weekend

Whether it’s having fun on the boat or playing beach volleyball, it’s easy for a person to lose track of how much they’re drinking while out celebrating the final days of summer. That’s why, if Minnesotans are planning to drink at all, it’s time to line up a sober driver.
Extra patrol
No longer does our society accept drunk drivers, and law enforcement across Minnesota will be ramping up efforts to get impaired motorists off the road starting Aug. 18 and running through Sept. 3.

His Caller ID said he was calling himself

I called myself the other day. Not intentionally, but my Caller ID said the incoming call was from my own phone number. Not sure how it happened, but the caller on the other end told me I had won a free trip to some resort someplace I never heard of.
How’d you get my phone number was my first thought. But it quickly turned to how did you get me to call myself?

Sept. 5 will now be an open house day, and the first official start of the school year will be Wednesday, Sept. 6.

New fertilizer rule needs farmers’ input

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is requesting input from the farming community on a rule that limits fertilizer application in some areas of the state in an effort to minimize nitrate pollution in the state’s groundwater. To effectively achieve this goal, farmers need to voice their questions and concerns in order to help MDA formulate a final rule that works in practice, not only on paper.
