Locals graduate from SDSU


Four area students graduated from South Dakota State University (SDSU) after the fall 2016 session. They include Bryce Lindeman, Brownton, Bachelor of Science (BS) in agriculture and biological sciences; Jenna Haag, Glencoe, cum laude, BS in agriculture and biological sciences; Kassandra Mackenthun, Glencoe, BS in arts and sciences; and Kati Mathews, BS in nursing.

Schlenners welcome a son


Meredith and Robert Schlenner of Glencoe announce the birth of a son, Jase Jackson, born March 10, 2017, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services. Jase weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 19 inches in length at birth. He joins siblings Colton and Reid. Grandparents are Curt and Wendy Schlenner of St. Paul and Ruth and the late Ron Kaczor of St. Cloud.

Shawn and Charity Gildea of Glencoe announce the arrival of a son, Sawyer James-Paul, born March 8, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Sawyer weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19 inches in length at birth. He joins a sister, Madison. Grandparents are Denise Hanes and Dell Hoecke, both of Glencoe.
 

IIlig awarded BSU scholarship


Jennifer Illig, a senior in the Bemidji State University (BSU) nursing program, was awarded a Bertha Evenson Memorial scholarship valued at $850 for the 2017-18 school year. Illig was one of 15 students awarded a scholarship.
