Ernest “Ernie” Noga, 87, of Isanti, died Jan. 10, 2017, surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti with the Rev. Don Wagner as celebrant. Interment was in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge. Military honors were by Isanti VFW Post 2735.
Ernest “Ernie” Noga was born April 1, 1929, in Hale Township, McLeod County, to John and Pauline (Shocinski) Noga. He grew up in Silver Lake, and attended St. Adalbert School and country school.

Glenn D. Zellmann, 56, of Young America, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017.
The funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 16, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America with the Rev. Eric Hutchison officiating.
Casket bearers were Don Zellmann, Mike Zellmann, David Zellmann, Lee Bessel, Bruce Bessel, Duane Bartels, Ralph Pawelk and Kris Raether.
Interment was in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Ethan Bass of Glencoe was named to the Iowa State University fall dean’s list. Bass is a junior majoring in industrial engineering.

Mercy Rakow of Silver Lake was among the students named to the fall semester dean’s list at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. To be named to the list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU), Marshall, has announced its fall semester high honors and honors lists. Ashley Kuphal and Briana Sondergaard of Glencoe were both named to the high honors list, which includes students who achieve a 4.0 grade point average. Named to the honors list, which includes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, are Korine Schuette, Brownton; Ashley Alsleben and Christopher Ross of Glencoe; and Riley Burgstahler, Stewart.
