Two named to Alex Tech list

Ashley Benson and Noah Roling, both of Stewart, were named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Alexandria Technical and Community College. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale to be named to the list.

Lokensgard on fall dean’s list

Jenna Lokensgard, daughter of Brad and Donna Lokensgard of Silver Lake, was named to the fall semester 2017 dean’s list at the University of Minnesota. To be named to the list, a student must have a grade point average of 3.66 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and have completed 12 or more credits. Jenna Lokensgard is enrolled in the university’s College of Liberal Arts.

Wrestlers take two of three at BOLD Quadrangular

It was the lone meet of the week for the Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team, but it was a good one.
The Panthers traveled west to Olivia to compete in the BOLD Triangular on Friday, Feb. 2, and finished with two wins in three competitions on the evening.
GSL/LP defeated Eden Valley Watkins, 34-24, and BOLD, 40-36, before falling to Eden Prairie, 47-24, to give the Panthers three wins in their last six matchups.


Gymnasts third at Delano

The Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team finished third in a triangular meet at Delano on Friday, Feb. 2.
In a meet originally scheduled to take place at GSL, the Panthers recorded 123.575 points, with the host Tigers tallying 131.475 and Litchfield posting 128.55.
Gia Venier placed second in the individual all-around, scoring a 33.075. Venier also won the vault competition with a score of 8.875.
Marissa Greeley took first on floor exercise with a score of 9.15 and finished sixth in the all-around at 32.6.
