After a quick exit in last year’s section playoffs, the Glencoe-Silver Lake baseball team has been chomping at the bit to get its new season started.
However, Mother Nature has been calling games left and right, leaving the Panthers cooped up indoors for almost the entire spring thus far.
“It’s the first time in years that when I say, ‘would anyone like fly balls in the parking lot?’ and every kid raises his hand,” coach Dean Schwirtz said. “They know it’s 30 degrees out, but they don’t care. They just want out.”
