Truck overturns, spills fertilizer

On Saturday, May 5, at 9:59 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a semi-tractor trailer had overturned in the ditch on County Road 11 near the intersection of 405th Street in Osceola Township. The initial caller reported that the driver was out of the vehicle and that several tanks that were secured on the trailer had spilled their contents into the ditch.

Teen leads law officers on high-speed pursuit

On May 5, at approximately 12:05 a.m., while searching for a suspect from a fight in Fairfax, a deputy from the Renville County Sheriff’s Office noticed a vehicle that did not have its lights on and was not stopping for stop signs.

Arlington man injured in single-car rollover

An Arlington man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday, April 26, at about 9:45 a.m., according to the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick James Enerson, 24, was driving his 2017 Nissan Altima south on County Road 17, just south of Highway 19, about four miles south of Arlington, when his vehicle touched the gravel shoulder on the west side of the road, he lost control of the car, and entered the east ditch. The car struck a field approach, causing it to roll over.

Bernetta I. Alsleben, 95, of Brownton

Bernetta Ida Alsleben, 95, of Brownton, died Friday, April 27, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton with the Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Bonnie Westmiller was the organist. The Rev. Andrew and Rosine Hermodson-Olsen performed “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.” Congregational hymns were “Jesus Loves Me,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Helen D. Engelmann, 91, of Green Isle

Helen D. Engelmann, 91, of Green Isle, died Friday, May 4, 2018, at Golden Hearts Assisted Living in Arlington.
Funeral services are today (Wednesday, May 9), at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Mark Triplett officiating. Visitation was Tuesday and continues today (Wednesday) for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers are Bruce Buckentin, Ronnie Engelmann, Nancy Freese, Don “Hoppy” Mehlhop, Stan Panning and Rhonda Powers. Interment will be in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hamburg.

Myra J. Hoernemann, 86, of Glencoe

Myra June (Stoeckmann) Hoernemann, 86, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Jon Niebuhr officiating. Cindy Longhenry was the organist. The Rev. Eric Hutchison and Jenny Hoernemann performed “Softly and Tenderly.” Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Paulette Jungclaus, 69, of Burnsville

Paulette “Pauli” Margaret Jungclaus, 69, of Burnsville, formerly of Glencoe, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at her home in Burnsville.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 8, at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony Stubeda officiating.

Jody Ann Lhotka, 51, of Plato

Jody Lhotka, 51, wife of Pat Lhotka, of Plato, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
A private family service will be held.

Charles H. Warner, 93, of Brownton

Charles “Chuck” H. Warner, 93, of Brownton, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Apopka, Florida.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 12, at the Congregational Church in Brownton with the Rev. Merline Duering officiating. Deanna Meyer will be the organist and Kay Wilson will be the pianist. Congregational hymns will be “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” and “Onward, Christian Soldiers.”
Urn bearers will be Jeff Berry, Chad Fleahman, Andy Kobilka, Chase Fleahman, Tim Wilson and Scott Klitzke. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Brownton.

Carol Klaustermeier, 75, Lester Prairie

Carol Alberta (Jessen) Klaustermeier, 75, of Lester Prairie, died peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard Lake.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Lynn Mueller was the organist. Congregational hymns were “In the Garden,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
