Dolores L. Dreier, 91, of Glencoe

Dolores L. Dreier, 91, of Glencoe, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Memorial service will be Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Dan Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Reichow named to honor list

Rachel Reichow, Glencoe, was named to the president’s roll of honor and the dean’s list at the University of North Dakota. Students in the top 15 percent of the enrollment academically are named to the dean’s list, and those who achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the president’s honor roll. Reichow achieved both honors.

Locals named to NDSU list

Local students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at North Dakota State University (NDSU). They include Brandi R. Pikal, an agricultural communication major from Brownton; and Russell R. Bayerl and Joshua C. Yurek, both from Silver Lake and both majoring in mechanical engineering.

Locals on SMSU honors list

Katelyn Plendl, Brownton, and Ashley Alsleben and Cassidy Schrader, both of Glencoe, were named to the honors dean’s list at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU), Marshall. To be named to the honors list, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Welch named to honors list

Samantha Welch, Glencoe, qualified for the spring semester honors list at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. The top 25 percent of all undergraduate students who complete at least 12 credit hours qualify for the honors list.

Nix named to dean’s list

Shannon Nix, a business administration major from Glencoe, was named to the Upper Iowa University spring dean’s list. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average and been enrolled as a full-time student.

Son born to Winterfeldts

Neil and Melanie Winterfeldt of Brownton announce the arrival of a son, Cody Austin Winterfeldt, born June 6, 2018. He arrived in the car on the way to Glencoe Regional Health Services, delivered by Dr. Kristen Budahn, Dr. Amanda Leiro and Kari Knodel-Vettel, physicians assistant. Cody weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long at birth. He joins siblings Ty, Brielle and Elsa. Grandparents are Lyle and Elaine Winterfeldt of Glencoe and Doug and Lois Albin of Clarkfield.

Locals named to MSU list

Minnesota State University, Moorhead, recently announced its spring 2018 dean’s list, which includes the following local students: Hanna Busch, New Auburn, majoring in social work; Alexis Kerslake, Glencoe, majoring in advertising and public relations; Mark Lueders, Glencoe, majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology; and Rachel Rusten, Glencoe, majoring in evolutionary biology and graphic information science. To be named to the list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
