Locals named to GAC list

Gustavus Adolphus College (GAC), St. Peter, recently named its spring semester dean’s list. Locals who were named to the list were Oakley Clark and Alyson Winn of Glencoe and Jillian Driver of Stewart. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale to be named to the dean’s list.

Son born to Trout family

Alex and Jessica Trout of Hutchinson announce the arrival of a son, Carter Alexander Trout, born June 13, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Carter weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20-3/4 inches long at birth. Grandparents are Doug and Pam Munsch of New Auburn and Dan and Brenda Trout of Gaylord.

Girl born to Kramb, Thomas

Ashley Kramb and Antonio Thomas of Glencoe announce the arrival of a daughter, Gianna Eastyn Thomas, born June 15, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Gianna weighed 8 pounds and was 211⁄4 inches long at birth. She joins a sibling, Paidyn Khouri. Grandparents are Sandy Kramb of Glencoe, and Muriel Thomas and Andrew Schaefer, both of Denver, Colorado.

Locals named to dean’s list

Mary Schmitt, Glencoe, and Molly Monahan, Hutchinson, were named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. To be named to the list, a student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Schmitt is majoring in elementary education and Monahan is majoring in health and human performance.

Marie Dols, 103, formerly of Stewart

Marie Dols, 103, of Brownton, formerly of Stewart, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at her home at the Shade Tree Retirement Center Assisted Living in Brownton.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, June 16, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart with the Rev. Gerald S. Meidl officiating.
Casket bearers were Cindy Dols Finn, Scott Dols, Sean Dols, Shane Dols, Molly McLaughlin, Michael McLaughlin and Nathan Dols. Memorials are preferred to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
