Physician Assistant joins GRHS family medicine Dept.

Certified physician assistant Patricia de Loyal, MPAS, PA-C, recently joined the family medicine department at Glencoe Regional Health Services (GRHS). She sees male and female patients of all ages for a variety of medical concerns and routine preventive care visits. De Loyal will work full time at the Glencoe clinic until fall, when she’ll start splitting her time between the GRHS clinics in Glencoe and Stewart.

Changes coming to courthouse security

Starting Aug. 1, access to the McLeod County Courthouse in Glencoe will be limited to the new, main entry on the southeast corner of the building, which means doors leading to the courthouse on the north side, off 11th Street, will be locked and alarmed.
In conjunction with its jail expansion project, McLeod County also began security measures at the courthouse and other buildings, including secured entrances to department offices and the installation of security glass on access windows, among other measures. The most current step is to reduce the number of entry points to the courthouse.

MMS Community Health Services Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week

The Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services (MMS CHS) WIC Program is celebrating Minnesota Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August and World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1-7. This year’s theme focuses on “Breastfeeding: Foundation of Life.”
The week helps raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding for both babies and mothers and calls attention to local efforts that support breastfeeding.

Helen Koepp, 95, formerly of Brownton

Helen Rohe Koepp, age 95, formerly of Brownton, passed away on July 10, 2018 at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson where she had been resident for more than a year. She was an amazing mother to 11 children, and throughout her long life, no matter how busy she was, she spread love and goodwill among everyone within reach.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 14 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton with Rev. Gerhard Bode officiating. Interment was at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Organist was Dawn Wolter.
