Bruins rally to win a thriller

A thrilling, come-from-behind 5-4 win at St. Boni on Sunday, July 8, kept the Brownton Bruins out of the Crow River Valley League South Division and set the team up for the final five-game stretch of the regular season.
The Bruins twice trailed their hosts, but battled back to knot the score at 4-4 before Bryce Lindeman scored the eventual winning run from second base on an infield single by Seth Schuette in the top of the ninth inning.

Blue Jays remain unstoppable

With two more Crow River Valley League victories over the weekend, the Plato Blue Jays improved to 12-1 on the season and entered this week on a nine-game winning streak.
Behind a combined one-hitter by pitchers Chris Odegaard and Zack Stockman, the Blue Jays proved to be rude guests at New Germany with a 14-0 pasting of the Dutchmen on Saturday, July 7.
Odegaard started and went five innings, giving up two walks and one hit with 12 strikeouts before giving way to Stockman, who struck out three with two walks in two innings.
