County Board approves bids for 2018 road projects

The McLeod County Board of Commissioner approved a low bid of $11.96 million for three “packaged” road projects for 2018 at its Tuesday morning meeting.
In June, the board had rejected bids for all three projects because bids came in about 5 to 6 percent higher than the engineer’s estimate.
County Highway Engineer John Brunkhorst reminded the board that the recommendation to reject the bids in June was with the understanding that the projects would go out for bids in winter, and as one package since the three projects are in the same general area.

Guard McKenna Monahan – currently pacing the squad with 24.9 points, 4.3 assists and 4.3 steals per game – suffered a sprained left ankle in the midst of a 10-point performance during a 53-48 loss to Maple Lake in the semifinal round last Wednesday.
