Soccer, football players earn post-season honors

A football season that started late and a soccer season where schools came together to form a cooperative team is part of a fall season that will long be remembered and hopefully not replicated anytime soon. Still, Glencoe-Silver Lake student athletes earned honors for their performances on the pitch and gridiron.

GSL senior earns honor for two sports in same season

Silus honored in football, soccer

He enjoys playing both sports enough that when the coronavirus pandemic created an opportunity to compete in both sports this fall, Damien Silus took advantage.
Along the way, Activities Director Dean Schwirtz confirmed Silus earned an honor nobody before him at GSL him has earned.

In inaugural fall season, GSL trapshooters finish seventh

The GSL trapshooting team finished the season in seventh place in its conference with 14,058 points. Spring Lake Park High finished first with 19,979.50 points and McGregor-Aitkin-Cromwell High finished second with 19,954.50. Overall, this was the GSL’s best season ever. The team had a lot of new shooters and watching them at the first week of practice, trying trapshooting for their very first time, and at the end of the season, looking at their scores, and seeing consistent improvement from day one was amazing, said coach Laurie Dummer.
