Helen Oelfke, 86, of Glencoe

Helen Ella (Aul) Oelfke, 86, of Glencoe, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, at The Gardens of Winsted in Winsted.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 7, 11 a.m., at Emanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hamburg, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Pastor Ronald Mathison was the officiating clergy.
Kathy Oelfke was the organist. Melissa Pinske and Jaelynn Pinske provided special music, “Away In A Manger” and “Amazing Grace.
“Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me” was the congregational hymn.
Helen’s nine grandchildren were the casket-bearers.


Richard Smith, 77, of Glencoe

Richard William Smith, 77, of Glencoe, formerly of Green Isle and New Ulm, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 9, 11 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Pastor Peter Adelsen was the officiating clergy.
Yvonne Schuette was the organist and soloist Glenda Schuft performed, “On Eagle’s Wings.”
“How Great Thou Art,” “Beautiful Savior” and “Lift High The Cross” were the congregational hymns.


Dr. Marvin Kahle, 98, of Gaylord

Dr. Marvin Kahle, 98, of Gaylord passed away Jan. 7, at Golden Hearts Living Center in Arlington.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord with interment in the New Ulm City Cemetery in the veteran’s section in New Ulm. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. in the St. Michael Social Hall on Saturday.
The Manthey-Asmus American Legion Post No. 433 will provide military honors.
Msgr. Eugene L. Lozinski will be the officiating clergy.
Sherri Kaufmann will be the organist.


Jerry Kolpek, 83, of Mason City, Iowa

Jerry Ray Kolpek, 83, of Mason City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, Mason City, Iowa.
A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Roland Bergs, 93, of New Auburn Township, rural Arlington, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 9, 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, with interment following at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in New Auburn Township. Visitation was held Saturday, January 9, 10 to 11 a.m., one-hour prior to the service at the church.
Pastor James Carlson was the officiating clergy.
Brenda Danielson was the organist.

DeVota Esther (Ortloff) Stoltenow, 92, of Lester Prairie, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
A private family memorial service was held at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
Pastor Al Fiene was the officiating clergy.
Pastor Al Fiene performed “How Great Thou Art” and “On Eagle’s Wings” was special music for the ceremony.

McLeod County departments closed during move to government center

Beginning Monday, Jan. 11, several McLeod County department offices on East 11th Street will move from the courthouse to the new government center at 520 Chandler Ave. N. in Glencoe.
Staff from county’s information technology and health and human services departments will be moving from the courthouse Monday, Jan. 11, to the new government center Tuesday, Jan. 12. The McLeod County Health and Human Services building at 1805 Ford Ave. N. and McLeod County North Complex at 2397 Hennepin Ave. N. will be closed to the public on Jan. 11 and be at the new facility Jan. 12.

DeVota Stoltenow, 92, of Lester Prairie, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Lester Prairie Education Foundation.
