One final Mileka’s Walk / Run

JoAnna Hall recalls rain showers fell on the day of Mileka Hall’s funeral. Sunday, Aug. 10, the final time the Hall-Wawrzyniak family and dozens of volunteers held a fun run/walk celebrating Mileka’s life, rain showers again fell in Silver Lake and the area. It seemed a fitting end to a bittersweet day, Hall said.

Mileka was killed in a tragic ATV accident in 2011. She would have graduated from high school this past spring. The family decided this year would be the final running of the event, which is typically held on Mother’s Day but was rescheduled because of the pandemic.
