Driver arrested after rollover crash

On Thursday, June 25, at 8:55 p.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a one-vehicle accident near the intersection of County Road 20 and 810th Avenue in Preston Lake Township. The accident was located about five miles northwest of Stewart.

Glencoe’s Music in Park starts July 8

The Glencoe Lions Club Music in the Park series for 2015 begins Wednesday, July 8, at Oak Leaf Park, Shelter 2.  
Free live music, sponsored by Larry Anderson’s State Farm Insurance, features Carver Creek, a five-person family group from Carver.  Its talent consists of instrumental and vocal bluegrass, gospel, Irish, old-time, new-time, with a smattering of early country and other favorites.

Plato pounds Norwood

A pair of home victories last weekend kept the Plato Blue Jays near the very top of the Crow River Valley League standings, as the squad posted a 7-2 record in the month of June. 
The Blue Jays carry a 12-4 overall record into July and begin the month one-half game off the lead pace of Brownton in the CRVL southern division with a 10-3 league mark.

Bruins still atop CRVL

The Brownton Bruins posted yet another Crow River Valley League (CRVL) win Wednesday night, June 24, by edging Winsted in a 2-0 pitchers’ duel.
The team’s two aces — Dylan McCormick for Brownton and  Tony Kley for the Wildcats — battled it out on the mound as each threw complete games.
