Homecoming King and Queen

McKenna Hallaway and Kellen Nelson were crowned the 2023 Glencoe-Silver Lake Homecoming King and Queen at coronation Monday night. This years candidates were, from left: Braxton Streich, Miguel Arandia, Grace Lipke, Katlyn Hanson, Hallaway, Nelson, crown bearers Tuck Kottke and Flora Weinzierl, Addy Graupmann, Audrey Petersen, Maverick Buckley and Eli Ehrke. Homecoming activities continue throughout the week highlighted by the Homecoming Parade, Friday, Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m. along 16th Street, from the former Helen Baker site to the high school.

Family Fun Day

The Silver Lake Royalty helped at Family Fun Day Saturday at Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake. The event sponsored by Grace Bible Church and Caring, Helping and Providing Ministries (CHAP) featured fun and games for the whole family including a jumping castle, face painting, bean bag toss, balloon toss, corn hole, free bingo, food and much more. Organizers hope this will become an annual event.
