A Carver County sheriff’s deputy was seriously injured in a two-car crash Thursday shortly after 9 p.m., had to be extricated from his squad, and was airlifted to a medical facility. The Brownton City Council has set a special meeting for Monday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m., to discuss the RS Fiber project. Mark Erickson, currently on a one-year leave of absence as the Winthrop city administrator to focus on the fiber project, will be present to share information with the Council and to answer questions its members may have.
