Derek and Ashley Melchert of Brownton announce the arrival of a boy, Braxton Joseph Melchert, born July 29, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Braxton weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 191⁄4 inches in length. He is welcomed by his brother Jayden, and grandparents James and Kathy Schwalbe of New Auburn, Deborah Melchert of Peoria, Arizona, and Joyce Schwalbe of Des Moines, Iowa.

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse announces its May 2017 graduates. Students earning degrees in May include Travis Rothstein of Glencoe who majored in finanace.

Daniel Raiter of Glencoe was among the 667 students to receive a bachelor’s degree during spring commencement at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May. He majored in chemistry.

Jon Lentz, a native of Glencoe, has been appointed the chief deputy in Stearns County by Sheriff Don Gudmondson. Lentz is married to Lori (Bandemer), also a native of Glencoe. He started as a correctional officer in Stearns County in 1991 and was made a deputy in 1997, promoted to sergeant in 2003, to lieutenant in 2007 and to captain in 2016...

The 2017 Regional 4-H Camp is a unique camping opportunity for youth who have completed third through sixth grade. The camp was held at the University of Minnesota – Morris campus June 20-22. Tyann and Timothy Miller of Glencoe announce the birth of a daughter, Wren Kennedy Miller, who arrived June 23, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Wren weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 19 inches long at birth. She is welcomed home by her siblings, Wyatt and Weston.
