2 accidents reported Saturday evening

There were two accidents on state highways in McLeod County Saturday evening.

The first was reported Saturday at 6:23 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 212 and Morningside Drive on the east edge of Glencoe.

According to the Minnesota  State Patrol, Tiffanie A. Taylor, 33, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was eastbound on Highway 212 in a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander and failed to yield at the stop signs at Morningside. Steven Berghuis, 53, of Glencoe, was going through the intersection on Morningside in a 2007 Chevy Silverado, and struck the Mitsubishi broadside.

Taylor and Hailey Berghuis, 12, of Glencoe, a passenger in the Silverado, were both taken to the Glencoe hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Samantha Copp, 25, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a passenger in the Mitsubishi, was not injured.

Both drivers and both passengers were belted, and alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash.
