2 candidates file for county board seats

Paul Wright, Hutchinson, will be seeking a third term as the District 3 McLeod County Commissioner. Wright filed his candidacy last week. District 3 includes city of Hutchinson Precinct 3, the city of Stewart, and Collins, Lynn, Penn and Round Grove townships.
Jeff Nies of Hutchinson has filed for candicacy for District 4. Sheldon Nies is the current commissioner from that district, but said he is retiring after his current term.
District 4 includes the cities of Biscay and Brownton, Hutchinson Precinct 1 and Hassan Valley, Rich Valley and Sumter townships.
There have been no filings yet for District 1. Ron Shimanski, Silver Lake, is the current commissioner for that district, which includes the cities of Silver Lake, Lester Prairie and Winsted, as well as Bergen and Hale townships.
