Alma F. Ogitzak, 91, of Silver Lake

Alma F. Ogitzak, 91, of Silver Lake, died May 11, 2017, at Cedar Crest in Silver Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 15, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with the Rev. Paul Schumacher presiding. Hannah Stifter and Dylan Lhotka were the readers. Bruce Gatz was the vocalist, and Alice Nowak was the organist. Mrs. Ogitzak’s grandchildren were the gift bearers.
Casket bearers were Sandy Wozniak, Brad Mikesh, Janet Olson, Kathy Bogatzki, Roger Quast, Joseph Chloupek and Jacob Stifter. Interment was in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Alma F. Ogitzak was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Winsted, the daughter of John and Mary (Nieman) Quast. On May 10, 1949, she and Marvin Ogitzak were married at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Mrs. Ogitzak enjoyed farming, especially driving tractors. She also enjoyed playing bingo every Wednesday, going to garage sales, gardening, baking kolaches (fried kolaches) and pies, quilting and babysitting. She cleaned the Legion clubs in Silver Lake and Hutchinson for over 30 years. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for over 65 years, and was a member of the ladies aid and Rosary Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Joseph) Chloupek and Tammy (Bruce) Stifter of Silver Lake; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Joey, John and Jim Quast; sisters, Mercedes Nowak and Theresa Hance; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin on May 3, 1983; her son Randy Ogitzak on Aug. 2, 1966; brothers, Rafael, William and Jerome; and sisters, Clarine, Fidelis and Jenny.
