Annual Glencoe fly-in, sweet corn, bratwurst feed set for Sept. 2

Glencoe Chapter 92 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, known as the South Central Flyers, will have its annual sweet corn and bratwurst feed and fly-in on Saturday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Glencoe Municipal Airport (Vernon Perschau Field).
A reasonably priced sweet corn and bratwurst meal will be served with all the trimmings. Discounted tickets are available in advance. Children eat free.
There will be a drawing for free plane rides. This is an opportunity to see many colorful, exotic, experimental, military and working type aircraft. Anyone interested in aviation will find this especially interesting. There will be ample opportunities for close examination of many aircraft. Many of these aircrafts and helicopters have been built solely from kits or plans. Attendees can ask questions of owners and pilots, many of whom have built their own airplanes and will fly them to the fly-in. There will be aircraft from the new Federal Aviation Administration category, light sport aircraft as well as ultralight aircraft and helicopters, as well as World War II military aircraft.
New this year will be free Young Eagle (for children ages 8 to 17) rides from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Glencoe Municipal Airport is located two miles east of Glencoe and one mile south of U.S. Highway 212 on Dairy Avenue (McLeod County Road 1).
