Arlene Lillian Seaton, 92, of Glencoe

Arlene Lillian (Dittmer) Seaton, 92, of Glencoe, formerly of Denver, Colo., died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, with the Rev. Brian Brosz officiating. He also was the guitarist. Congregational hymns were “In the Garden,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.”
Her family served as casket bearers. Interment was in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Plato.
Arlene Lillian (Dittmer) Seaton was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Plato, the daughter of August and Frieda (Graupmann) Dittmer. She was baptized as an infant on March 11, 1923, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 21, 1937, both at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato. She grew up in Plato. She attended school in Plato and Glencoe, graduating from Glencoe High School. She furthered her education by attending St. Cloud College in St. Cloud, graduating with a teaching degree.
On Oct. 16, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ryland Lincoln Seaton. They made their home in Denver, Colo. Mrs. Seaton moved to Glencoe after her husband died on March 30, 1994.
In addition to being a loving wife and homemaker, Mrs. Seaton was a teacher and worked at Texaco Oil Co. as a private secretary. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato. She also was a member of the Denver YMCA and an active volunteer for the Stroke Association.
Mrs. Seaton enjoyed traveling, golfing and skiing, especially giving skiing lessons. She loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her nephews, James “Jim” (Marilyn) Jensen of Plato and Richard (Carol) Perschau of Austin, Texas; niece, Donna Wilson (husband Robert Lindemann) of Indianapolis, Ind.; her late nephew’s wife, Yvonne Dittmer of Indianapolis; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Frieda Dittmer; husband, Ryland Seaton; brother, Herbert (Clara) Dittmer; sisters, Lenora (Herman) Jensen and Lorraine (Cyril) Perschau; and nephew, Lowell Dittmer.
