Arnold M. Seefeldt, 83, Lester Prairie

Arnold Martin Seefeldt

Arnold Martin Seefeldt, 83, of Lester Prairie, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Jane Holasek was the organist. Congregational hymns were “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “Jesus Loves Me.”
Honorary casket bearers were Mandy Lyons, Amy Seefeldt, Alyssa Mclay and Ashley Seefeldt. Casket bearers were Mike Schauer, Billy Schauer, Joey Schauer, Adam Seefeldt, Jason Lyons and Lance Mclay.
Interment was in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Arnold Martin Seefeldt was born Jan. 18, 1934, at his home in Lester Prairie, the son of Edwin and Annie (Birkholz) Seefeldt. He was baptized as an infant on Jan. 28, 1934, by the Rev. Eckert at his home, and was confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 21, 1948, by the Rev. R.A. Ritz, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. He received his education at a country school in Lester Prairie.
On Jan. 23, 1957, he was united in marriage to Margaret Casey at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. They made their home in Lester Prairie, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Patsy, Tim and Paul. They shared over 37 years of marriage before Mrs. Seefeldt died on Feb. 27, 1994.
Mr. Seefeldt was a dairy farmer his whole life. He also worked at the cement factory in Lester Prairie for 37 years and at the creamery. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Being a farmer, Mr. Seefeldt enjoyed field work and cutting hay. He also enjoyed fishing on Sundays, polka music and attending local town celebrations, including their parades. He loved taking trips to the gas station and visiting family with his golf cart. He treasured the time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Patsy (Steve) Schauer of Glencoe, Tim (Beth) Seefeldt of Lester Prairie and Paul Seefeldt of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Mike (Kim) Schauer, Mandy (Jason) Lyons, Billy (Crystal) Schauer, Joey (Jen) Schauer, Adam Seefeldt, Amy Seefeldt (fiancé Mike King), Alyssa (Lance) Mclay and Ashley Seefeldt (fiancé Adam Melhop); great-grandchildren, Trever, Cory, Jake, Mikey, Abby, Kayle, Wyatt, Jack, Lucas, Johnny, Andrew, Aaron, Alex, Annabelle, Heidi and Austin; sister, Elsie Gilster and her friend Al of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Casey and Gladys Casey; brother-in-law, Tom Casey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Annie Seefeldt; wife, Margaret Seefeldt; great-granddaughter, Baby Girl Lyons; brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Harriet Seefeldt; brothers-in-law, Carl Gilster, Pat Casey, Mike Casey and Joe Casey; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Don Klugow, Betty and Herbert Krienke and Hazel Casey.
