Aurelia M.L. Luedtke, 100, of Glencoe

Aurelia Luedtke

Aurelia Marie Louise (Dietel) Luedtke, 100, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 26, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Yvonne Schuette was the organist. Congregational hymns were “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
Casket bearers were Gene Konerza, Allen Robeck, Jeff Schraeder, David Witthus, Joe Schmidt and Erik Juaire. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Aurelia Marie Louise (Dietel) Luedtke was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Camden Township, Carver County, the daughter of Theodore and Louise Emma (Stender) Dietel. She was baptized as an infant on March 21, 1918, by the Rev. W.J. Rath, at her parents’ home on the Dietel farm, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 20, 1932, by the Rev. E.U. Hafermann, at Friedens United Church of Christ in Carver County. She received her education through the eighth grade at District 19 School.
On Nov. 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Luedtke Jr. by the Rev. Schield at Friedens United Church of Christ in Carver County. They made their home in Glencoe since 1945. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Gene, Marlys and Denis. The couple shared over 43 years of marriage before Mr. Luedtke’s death on Oct. 24, 1989.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Mrs. Luedtke worked as a waitress and clerk at Lee’s Super Valu in Glencoe.
She enjoyed fishing, sewing, playing cards, canning and gardening, especially flowers and vegetables. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Gene Luedtke of Owatonna, Marlys Luedtke of Bloomington and Denis (Lisa) Luedtke of Glencoe; grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Schmidt and Katie (Erik) Juaire; great-grandchildren, Addison Schmidt, Asher Schmidt and Dexter Juaire; cousins, Marie Dietel and Orville Dietel; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Louise Dietel; husband, William Luedtke Jr.; daughter-in-law, Darlene Luedtke; and brother, Victor Dietel.
