Back from quarantine, short-handed Brewers fall
With three players finishing up a coronavirus quarantine period and others on a holiday break, the Glencoe Brewers took the field Sunday, July 5, in Mayer for their second game of the modified season.
With their starting pitcher taking an early exit with an arm problem and their starting catcher succumbing to 90-plus degree heat and humidity, both in the early-going, the Brewers fell to Mayer.
With the rest of the league enjoying more field time than the Brewers, Glencoe, 0-2 so far, hosts undefeated Winsted tomorrow night, July 9, 7:30 p.m. The Brewers will hit the road Saturday, 3 p.m., to face New Germany, a team still looking for its first win. Sunday, July 12, Glencoe will head to St. Boni for a 2 p.m. tilt. Wednesday, July 15, 7:30 p.m., the Brewers will host Plato, another team still looking for its first win.
