Barbara Christine Friauf, 74, of Winsted
Barbara Christine Friauf, 74, of Winsted and formerly of Minnetonka, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 12, 1943 in Lester Prairie, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Dallmann) Friauf.
Ms. Friauf graduated from Lester Prairie High School and the University of Minnesota.
She was a legal secretary and a teaching associate at the University of Minnesota. Ms. Friauf was also a Spanish teacher at The International Institute of Minnesota. She had a passion for teaching Spanish, spending over three decades in the classroom. Ms. Friauf felt it was very important to be given the opportunity to study a foreign language – especially Spanish.
She traveled and lived in Spain. Ms. Friauf loved cats and feeding the wild birds and wildlife. She also like to hike trails around Minnetonka.
Ms. Friauf is survived by cousins, Walter C. Friauf of Safford, Ariz., Jean Nelson of Glendora, Calf., and other friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation for Ms. Friauf was held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted. Interment is at Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were with The Chilson Funeral home in Winsted.
