Be careful with what, how much is discharged

To the Editor:
Several times a week, news media are raising our state and federal  water concerns. A good article is in the Feb. 8, 2016, Star Tribune: “We all want clean water, if the other guy pays for it,” by Ron Way.
If the Buffalo Creek Watershed Board members’ water source would be affected as others are, my guess is they would all be more careful on “what” and “how much” was being discharged into Buffalo Creek. The city of Glencoe, along with its engineers, is preparing to dump about 1,100 acres of watershed from the north side of town directly to the creek. How will this affect the town(s) downstream? Holding ponds would be a much better solution.
If only something could be done to convince the board that it does have a lot to say about “what,” “where,” and “how much” water is dumped into Buffalo Creek. Please, your help is needed.
