Betty J. Pulkrabek, 89, of Hutchinson

Betty J. Pulkrabek, 89, of Hutchinson, formerly of Silver Lake, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Harmony River in Hutchinson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with the Rev. Tony Stubeda as the celebrant. Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Matthew Frauenshuh, Ron Johnson, Gary Piehl, David Pulkrabek, Tim Pulkrabek and Dale Syverson.
Betty Pulkrabek was born July 30, 1925, in Hutchinson, to William C. and Victoria P. (Byczynski) Pofahl.
On May 6, 1947, she and George J. Pulkrabek were joined in holy marriage in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with two sons.
Mrs. Pulkrabek formerly belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, where she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and Rosary Society. She also belonged to the American Legion Post 141 Auxiliary, was a lifetime member of the McLeod County Historical Society and was a charter member of 3M Century.
She loved cooking, canning, being a homemaker and animals.
She is survived by her loving son, Steven (Jeanne) Pulkrabek of Roscoe, Ill.; grandchildren, Bill, Kathryn, Adam, Brigitte and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Zachary and one due in June; a brother, Robert Pofahl of Hutchinson; sisters, Helen Piehl of Silver Lake, Alma Johnson of Hutchinson and Sandra (David) Frauenshuh of Edina; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Lorin Pulkrabek; her parents; a brother, William Pofahl; and half-sisters, Eleanore Hagen and Irene Painschab.
