Bicyclist struck, injured by SUV on Highway 212
A 66-year-old male bicyclist from Papillon, Nebraska, was injured today on Highway 212 when his bicycle was struck by a 2001 Ford Escape driven by a 61-year-old woman from Howard Lake. Names of the driver and the cyclist will be released about 6 p.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol said the bicycle and the Escape were both eastbound on Highway 212 near Chandler Avenue, Glencoe, when the accident happened at about 1:30 p.m.
The bicyclist was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital. The Escape driver was not injured. Assisting the state patrol were the Glencoe police, McLeod County Sheriff's Office and Allina Ambulance.
