Blue Jays return home at 5-0

With five wins in five road games to start the season, the Plato Blue Jays will return home for the first time this season for a weekend set against Winsted and Brownton with an undefeated record.

Plato improved to 5-0 by means of a 3-1 win at Chaska on Thursday, May 21, and a 4-2 besting of host Hamburg on Monday, May 25.

Starting pitcher Cody Hallahan earned the win with eight innings of seven-hit, one-run ball against Chaska. He struck out eight batters while walking two. Matt Odegaard notched the save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Adam Prehn and Tyler Lang recorded Plato’s two RBI in the game, with Hallahan scoring twice while Prehn and Odegaard crossed the plate once each.

On Memorial Day, Prehn tossed a complete-game win for the Blue Jays, who rallied past the hosts with a two-run seventh to claim the victory.

With Blue Jay Stadium all set to go after a series of refurbishments, Plato is scheduled to host Winsted at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Brownton scheduled to pay a visit for a 5 p.m. contest on Sunday.
