Boys' basketball retooled and ready to run

Off of a topsy-turvy season last winter, there’s once again plenty that is new about the 2016-17 edition of Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball.
While there’s not a bevy of varsity experience returning to the court for the Panthers this season, the team did list nine seniors on the big squad for the first day of practice on Monday, Nov. 21.
“These guys work, that’s one really good thing,” head coach Robb DeCorsey said. “They work hard, they get along and are fun to be around.”
Of the seniors, guard Luke Frahm returns the most varsity experience from last season, and DeCorsey expects the leadership he showed as quarterback from the GSL football team to transfer into the gymnasium.
“Luke is naturally the one trying to make things happen,” DeCorsey said. “It’s natural for him – I don’t think that pressure really gets to him. It’s not a big deal for him to step up.”
