Brandon Randt

Brandon Darryl Randt, 29, of Garfield, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, while working on a boat, something he loved doing.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 1, at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. David Hinz officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria.
Brandon Darryl Randt was born Oct. 25, 1986, in Glencoe, the son of Darryl and Christine Randt. He began school in Glencoe. Before starting third grade, his family moved to Hutchinson, where he continued his schooling. Following his graduation from Hutchinson High School, he moved to Alexandria and continued his education at Alexandria Technical College, and graduated with a degree in marine and small engine repair.
He loved working on boats and boat motors. He worked for Bobber’s Marine at Glenwood and later at Mills Fleet Farm. For the past 51⁄2 years, he had been working for Alex Auto and Marine.
He loved being outdoors. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and liked going hunting with his dog, Bristol. he also enjoyed fishing in the summer and winter, camping with friends and family, sitting around a bonfire, boating, four-wheeling and racing. If it was outdoors, he was all for it. He liked country music and going to festivals. Most of all, he loved doing it all with his best friend, Steph.
In school, he played on the football team and shot on the trap team. He also was a wrestler. He proved himself a cut above the rest by earning the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand, he was always willing to extend one, no matter what time of the day or night.
He liked to cook, whether it was trying new recipes or calling home for his mom’s recipes. He loved his family and looked forward to time spent with them. He loved spending time with his brothers and sisters. He liked to joke and make them laugh and smile, which was usually followed by his own laughter, which was the loudest in the room.
He is survived by his longtime special friend, Stephanie Hadler of Garfield; his parents, Christine and Jon Carrigan of Hutchinson and Darryl Randt of Madison Lake; grandparents, Dennis and Sue Meyer of Glencoe, Mary Ann Carrigan of Buffalo Lake and Ruth Randt of Glencoe; son, Bentley Wittmer of Alexandria; brothers, Bryan (Briana) Randt of Alexandria and Riley Carrigan of Hutchinson; half-brother, Luke Randt of Madison Lake; sisters, Allyson Carrigan and Madison Carrigan, both of Hutchinson; half-sister Nicole Randt of Waterville; niece, Layni Randt; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
