Brewers improve to 2-0

The Glencoe Brewers improved to 2-0 on the young season by prevailing 4-3 on the road against the New Ulm Brewers on Saturday, April 29.

Glencoe never trailed in the contest, but were never able to gain a comfortable lead as New Ulm kept the game tight until the end.

Starting pitcher Derek Bratsch earned the win with three innings of spotless work that included four strikeouts. Tanner Grack claimed the save by tossing the final three frames, allowing one earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out five.

Colt Trebesch led off the game with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Derek Weber to put Glencoe up for good at 1-0.

Mason Goettl drove in Trebesch with a double in the third, with Brandon Ebert finding his was around the bases thanks to three New Ulm errors to put the visitors up 3-0.
