Brewers split a pair

The Glencoe Brewers claimed a split of last week’s games, falling 7-4 at Arlington on Wednesday, May 31, before blanking St. Boni 11-0 at Vollmer Field the next night.
Glencoe took a 1-0 first-inning lead in a non-league game against the host A’s as Teddy Petersen singled and scored on a Derek Weber single.
However, Arlington powered back with five runs over the third and fourth frames before holding off a late Brewer rally for the three-run win. Glencoe starting pitcher Colt Trebesch took the loss after allowing two earned runs over three innings.
The Brewers erupted for 10 runs between the third and fifth innings to topple visiting St. Boni in the second game of the week.
Weber went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Petersen was 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and one driven in. Mason Goettl was 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Glencoe, now 5-2 overall this season, is on the road at Watertown (Wednesday), Hamburg (Friday) and St. Boni (Saturday) this week.
