Brewers topple Watertown

A pair of losses on complete opposite ends of the scoring spectrum gave the Glencoe Brewers a 6-4 record entering this week. The Brewers return home after going 2-1 on last week’s three-game road trip.

Glencoe began last week’s set with a 5-1 win at Watertown on Thursday, June 1. Cole Petersen earned the win with seven innings of three-hit ball, allowing two walks and one run while striking out nine. Tanner Grack tossed the final two innings, allowing no hits and one walk with four K’s.

Mason Goettl hit a two-run double in the third inning, with Colt Trebesch, Teddy Petersen and Derek Bratsch posting one RBI each. Derek Weber scored two of the Brewers’ five runs.

There were no runs to be had in Glencoe’s next contest, as the Brewers lost 1-0 at Hamburg on Friday, June 9.

Jaime Paumen was the hard-luck loser for the visitors, despite striking out nine batters and allowing just one run on three hits and one walk.
