Brewers walk past Glencoe
With the help of 15 walks, the Glencoe Brewers ran their Crow River Valley League (CRVL) winning streak to four games with a 6-3 win at Cologne on Wednesday, June 15.
Glencoe garnered just four hits – including a two-run homer from Gannon Jordahl in the first inning – but eased their way to victory despite committing six errors in the field.
“Our pitchers did well, but other than that we did not play a very good game,” coach Stephen Wiblemo said. “Only four hits, six errors and we had at least five base running mistakes that either cost us outs or runs in the game.”
Starting pitcher Justin Erkenbrack earned the win for the Brewers after going 6-1/3 innings with two strikeouts while allowing four walks, two hits and one earned run.
Derek Bratsch struck out a pair while allowing two hits, two walks and no earned runs in 2-2/3 innings of relief before Tanner Grack struck out the lone batter he faced to close out the game and claim the save.
